Today I’m joined by two highly requested guests, my parents! We dive into their thoughts on the engagement, an update on our family dogs, and all of the Disney tips & hacks that you can use on your next trip!

INTRODUCTION
You asked and I delivered, my parents are back for a life update! Since I was home for a few days I thought it was the perfect time to catch up with them here on the podcast. We dive into my parents’ thoughts on the engagement, the family dogs (Daisy & RIP Delilah), Henry’s experience using my dad’s ice bath right before this recording, and an abundance of Disney hacks & tips since we are a *Disney family* and it’s the most magical place to be!
THEIR THOUGHTS ON OUR ENGAGEMENT
- My parents knew for a long time that Henry was the one, so they were excited about the engagement! Henry texted them before he called and they knew what was coming.
- Henry wanted to speak to both my mom and dad and ask for their blessing instead of just asking my dad for permission. Which we all absolutely loved!
- We are currently looking at wedding venues. I want to feel free on my wedding day and want people to leave feeling like the wedding was *so us*.
- My dads only request is that he gets to pick out the song for our father daughter dance.
MY FAMILY DOGS, DAISY & DELILAH
- When I was a junior in high school I begged my parents for a dog. I found these two dogs at a rescue in Kentucky and I was so scared that no one would adopt them together. And that is how we got Daisy and Delilah.
- A couple of years ago Delilah tripped and fell in the back yard and broke her leg. So my parents took her to the animal hospital (there was vet negligence) and she lost her leg. Then she had congestive heart failure and she had to be put down after Christmas.
- Daisy hasn’t ever lived without her but she’s doing okay so far.
- I will be taking some of Delilah’s ashes and spreading them along my travels!
HENRYS ICE BATH EXPERIENCE
- Henry always loves a cold shower or a dip in a lake. I do it with him but if he wasn’t there I would never do it. We usually jump in when the sun is out or after a hike when we are already hot.
- My dad made an ice bath and Henry agreed to go in it. It was 32 degrees outside so there was no getting warm after you got out (besides going to take a hot shower which is what he did).
- Tip from my dad: intentionally making yourself uncomfortable has tremendous power and with the right motivation there’s nothing you can’t do for 3 minutes!
OUR TRIP TO DISNEY (+ TIPS THAT YOU CAN USE FOR YOURS!)
- Henry and I are going to Disney this week! And the first thing we want to say is, if you don’t have fun there it’s because you aren’t doing it right!
- Make sure to download the app to see the wait times and go to the rides with the shortest waits. You don’t have to wait 75 minutes for a ride.
- The crabbier you are before you step foot somewhere, the worse it’s going to be. When you go in thinking it will be so much fun you will have the best time.
- You can spend as much or as little as you want there. You can bring your own drinks in, stay at a resort outside of the park, and get free transportation to the park through that resort.
- Henry and I are going to the 4 main parks. Animal kingdom is my favorite!
- With the Disney watch, everything is so much easier. You pay with it, you check into your hotel with it, you use it for everything!
- You can request groceries in your hotel (which is what we did). It’s the smoothest experience, Disney really sets the standard for everything!
- Henry is most excited for Epcot and the rides!
MY PARENTS’ DISNEY WORLD TIPS AND TRICKS
- Leave midday if you are tired and make sure to take breaks! The beginning and end of the day at the park is the best.

- My mom’s *not miss* thing to see: The fireworks at Magic Kingdom!
- We love that Disney is becoming more and more inclusive.
- My mom is going to be running the 10k & half marathon princess race. She has her costumes ready – for the 10k she will be Cinderella (before she was a princess) and then for the half marathon Cinderella as a princess!
- Disney Springs is one of my dad’s favorite places (he loves the bourbon bar & Gideon’s Bakehouse!)
- They highly recommended the behind the scenes tour!
LEAVING BEHIND ELLA, FINN, AND PEARL FOR THE WEEK
- Destiny & Liz are watching them in San Diego for the week and I trust them. They have watched them before when we went to a wedding.
- There are specific things about Ella that worry me just because I don’t want her to ever feel uncomfortable. Pearl will be chilling the entire time and Finn will be missing Henry and waiting for him to get back all week.
- Hopefully in the future my parents can come to us more often or we can come back with the dogs so we don’t have to leave them.
SUMMARY
I will be having Henry’s mom on the podcast soon since she was highly requested as well! My parents have been thriving and they do most of the work with my coffee brand! They package it, answer questions from customers, and my dad ships it out every week. We all love it so much. My favorite is Pick Me Up Pearl and their favorite is Morning Light!
